Jennifer Chen is a junior at Northeastern University, a business major and fashion entrepreneur on campus. She is the founder and director of the Unity Fashion show, which had its third annual show on Friday, March 25th. Chen works with the Office of Institutional Diversity and Equity at Northeastern University to create a show that displays diversity and fashion as an art during Diversity Week.
“Everybody is unique in their on way, has their own style, fashion, music, sexuality etc,” said Chen, “What makes us individuals is what we celebrate in this production.”
Chen recruited models from different colleges in both the Boston and New York areas as well as designers from places like Boston, New York, Rhode Island and Florida.
“Our models all come from different backgrounds, major in different things, are different ethnicities and have different looks to them,” said Chen, “We don’t pick based on the typical tall and beautiful young women or men.
